Q: What songs do you have for my Gig/Wedding and/or Reception?

A: To see our song list please click here and wait about 45 seconds for the list to pull up.

If we don't have those you'd like, tell us asap and we will do our best to get them for you. We don't have a huge list of 50,000 random songs like some because that is a total waste of time for everyone and something just to brag about to sound like we've got something. You don't want to scroll through 50,000 songs of "junk" to find the 100 or so perfect ones you want for yours. We screen our music very carefully as we purchase them and typically toss out about 100 each time and only include those we/you will actually use.

If you’d like I can also send you a list of the songs most recently requested for the events. IE: Bride/Groom, Father/Bride, Mother/Son, main dance etc. in a separate emailing.

Our lists are saved in Microsoft Excel so if you don’t have Excel on your computer you can go to:

Q: What kind of music do you usually play and do you play Rap or Gangsta music with foul language in it?

A:  We specialize in “Top 40” dance music from the 30’s to now. This includes Rock, Country, Club (Trance and European disco), House (what you hear in your local club) and Teen (Top 40 now). This list does not include Rap, Gangsta, or music with a lot of foul language in it. Most private gigs have people from all backgrounds including those who would be offended at such music. We don’t try to cater to only one audience or offend anyone so we generally play music from each category listed above to get EVERYONE involved. We can send you lists of the most popular from each category if you’d like. All of our song lists are saved in Excel so if you don’t have Excel on your computer you can go to:

Please note: At Sounds Unlimited Entertainment we try very hard to maintain a class service that is agreeable to members of all ages. If you would like a lot of music with foul language in it PLEASE hire another service!

Q: Do I have to pick out every song for my event?

A: No and Yes. It really helps for you to pick as many songs as you can so I can get a feel for your style … especially those for “special dances”. When choosing “general songs” for the main dance event please remember to include songs for all of your guests. These songs might be very different from what you’d play if it was your private party. To view our song list please click here and wait about 45 seconds for the list to pull up.

Q: Will we have to pay extra for an emcee or can the DJ do this?

A: Emceeing the event while back behind deck DJing your event can get rather awkward. Because of this I usually use a separate Emcee to help me. She typically charges $300.00 and our usual Full package price is $950.00. Please go to:  http://www.soundsunlimitedd.com/PricesPage.html

I typically say very little at the Reception and keep the music/lights changing. It is a bigger job than the average person recognizes. However, I have successfully emcee’d from behind the deck in the past and things went fairly smooth ... just a little awkward that's all.

Maybe I can get my Emcee to discount her price ... should I ask?

Q: Do you post pictures of our party on your website?

A: You won’t see us posting pictures of your Ceremony or other very personal events on our website for everyone to see, without your permission. We don’t assume the right to make your Wedding our Advertisement!

Q: How does your sound gear (P.A.) stack up to other Dee Jay services?

A: We’ve gone out and checked out the competition and I can tell you that we bring high quality gear to your event with a first class look “that no other service in the area has”. We use Peavey 18” Sub-woofers to pump the base and Peavey 15” Black Widows with 15” horns to crank the sound. Most other services around use 12” or 15” speakers for their biggest! This means we can go louder than them (auditoriums) and softer than them (small venues) while giving you a much cleaner and stronger sound without distortion!  To see most of our gear please click here

We take time like no other service we know of to ensure that yours is everything you envisioned and we do all this at a price that’s affordable and beats the comp hands down for the services given.

Q: What kind of dance lighting do you have?

A: We’ve got stage lighting for auditoriums and large venues, multi-colored fast dance lighting for all venues and white disco lights for slow grooves. To spice things up for Halloween and kids parties we’ll include red blaze “fire” lighting. To see some of our lighting please click here

Q: Why do you charge separately for transportation?

A: As the price of gas leaps and the economy sours we try very hard to keep our prices down (in fact we’ve already lowered our prices to 2003 levels!) to help our clients keep some extra cash for their honeymoon. We won’t inflate our total price to unnecessary levels. So … we only raise the price of transportation as we have to pay more at the pumps … and leave our other prices alone!

Q: What kind of equipment will you need us to supply?

A: Nothingunless yours is outside … then we’ll need you to supply separate extension chords leading from at least two (four if dance lights are needed) separate electrical outlets to the DJ site. If you are having trouble with supplying these let us know in advance and we'll bring our own. Then all you need to do is relax and let the show begin ... we’ll bring the rest!
